Reviews We freaking LOVE reviews. A big part of Red Slime is its reviews of webcomics big, small, short, and tall, and a big part of THAT is getting them from readers. Basically, we have a small set of regular writers on the site, but we also strongly encourage anyone and everyone to submit their own reviews. We mostly feature reviews of webcomics; however, pieces about graphic novels or other print comics would also be super. There are only a few criteria (aside from it being in fully-formed English sentences): the review has to be at least 500 words in length, and the comic being reviewed has to either have 50+ (non-filler) pages in its archive or be more than 5 months old (or both). And of course, you have to be a member of the Web site, which is as easy as going and signing up. Once you submit the review, it goes through to one of our editors and they stare at it for a while. You'll hear from us within a couple of days. After the editing process is finished, it goes live on the site! If you have any questions, then send an e-mail to editor AT red-slime DOT net. CLICK HERE to go to the review submission form (you must be logged in).
Articles For topics more broad than a single comic, Red Slime also features articles. Anything goes as long as it falls under the topic umbrella of "comics" -- tutorials, opinion pieces, commentaries, studies on trends and clichés, interviews, and debates. The Internet can barely contain the raw funtastic. If you want to submit an article, it just has to be more than 500 words and interesting. And you have to be signed up. Easy. If you have any questions or want to find out if a topic is suitable, just e-mail us at editor AT red-slime DOT net. Otherwise, CLICK HERE for the article form (make sure you're logged in first).
The Magazine Red Slime Magazine is a showcase area for short comics by awesome writers and artists across the spectrum. Each month a new issue comes out with around 20 pages of goodness. Whether you write or draw, anyone can submit to be a part of the magazine. Writers can submit scripts, while artists can submit samples of their work and volunteer their services to draw for stories. Finished works can also be submitted. Writers: Script submission is now open! Scripts can be one to 10 comic pages in length and must be in .doc or .rtf format. If you feel your script's polished and ready to get looked at, CLICK HERE to send it in. Artists: Since you're offering your services rather than a specific product, artists can just fill in their details and submit up to five art samples (in jpg, .gif, .png, .bmp, or .tif format). Inkers, colourists and letterers are also wanted and needed and loved, so go ahead and CLICK HERE to go to the form. Finished Works: Got a completed short comic to put in? GREAT! Stories must be ready to post, with images in a .zip or .rar file for easy munching. They must also be 15 pages or less. To submit a finished comic, CLICK HERE . Banners Of course you've looked at the top of the page and thought, "Wow, I wish my art was up there. A shining beacon of all that is wonderful." Well, now is your chance. GRAB IT. The banners at the top have no theme; just make it something awesome. Images must be in .png format, and be 710x310 pixels in size. To submit your own banner, CLICK HERE.
